J. Isaiah Evans is a native of Dallas, Texas best known as the founder and front man of roots rock and roll band, The 40 Acre Mule. Following the critical and commercial success of The 40 Acre Mule’s Goodnight & Good Luck (State Fair Records, 2019), the band set out on an extensive touring schedule. Known for loud, high energy live shows, The 40 Acre Mule gained a devout following with fans all over the world. But there’s always room for something different. Enter J. Isaiah Evans & The Boss Tweed! A fan of organ driven bands such as Booker T. and the M.G.’s and the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, he’s forged a new path with a band that puts keys front and center of Americana rock creating what he calls “Garageicana Rock-N-Roll”. “It’s an opportunity to try new sounds on some old favorites as well as explore new music with artists that I’ve always wanted to work with. I want to take Americana and blues and soul and garage rock and make it into something unique. I’m excited for people to get to know this new project.”- J. Isaiah Evans  With Spud Crowley on drums and Matthew Vasquez on keys, the trio debuted by opening for one of Texas’ favorite sons, Alejandro Escovedo, at a sold-out Kessler Theater. This was quickly followed by supporting slots for Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Silverada (formerly) Mike & the Moonpies, Messer Chups and Dave Alvin and The Third Mind with more tour dates on the horizon. The debut single, a rockin’ cover of Mel McDaniel’s “Stand Up”, is streaming on all platforms with a full-length album coming soon!

After an early stint drumming and singing in Haybaby (Tiny Engines), Zach James began writing and self-producing folk records in his bedroom, donning the name The Silver Spaceman. The project evolved into a post-punk band featuring Andrew Bailey (DIIV) on lead guitar. It snarled and simmered around darker textures, miles away from its early folk roots. James looked to his darkened smile and rechristened the project Dead Tooth. They gained momentum opening for bands like Hand Habits, The Space Lady and Current Joys. After recording their second EP entitled Pig Pile, the pandemic disembodied the band as it did so many others. Ambitious to keep the momentum going and release the EP, James rebuilt the project from the ground up. He added an EWI/Sax player and relinquished his own live guitar duties for a frontman stage persona. The new crew consisting of Taylor Mitchell, James Duncan, Max Idas, Ginno Tacsiat and John Stanesco was quickly picked up by Rough Trade Publishing and Trash Casual Records. Shortly after, they went on to win OWL Winter Madness (a 16 band, 5 week long “battle of the bands” at Brooklyn’s legendary rooftop venue Our Wicked Lady). They then found themselves playing SPIN Magazine’s SXSW showcase alongside The Lemonheads, Bass Drum of Death and Pom Pom Squad. SPIN
